Thank you for sharing this Elizabeth. I was curious about it but so frustrated with her that I couldn’t bear to pick it up. As someone who also wrote a memoir this year about being a young woman subjected to misogyny, harassment and abuse in a man’s world (sports broadcasting) I see so many parallels between our stories. Mine (Warrior: My Path to Being Brave) is also framed around my father. Difference is, mine is a gem: a feminist, a social worker, a true fighter for the marginalized. This makes me feel compassion for Cassidy. Could her path have been different if her father wasn’t a monster, making her comfortable being amongst them?
