This is EXACTLY what I thought of when watching Expats. That and the strange lip injection thing. I love her but WHY??

Oh Lisa—Thanks so much. Really appreciate it.

I don't get all the stretched out cheeks and pumped up lips. I'm committed to letting my face and body age as it must because I'm too cheap to get cosmetic surgery. But it I get a windfall, I'd love to have my neck done.

My neck is the thing! Obviously it’s making me nutty!

Well, this one certainly hit home, in more ways than one! I wish Nicole Kidman had chosen to age more Frenchly, but that relentless perfectionism of the self ensures that from this point on she can play only women who get expensive plastic surgery or who belong to some sort of alien species. Meanwhile Jodie Foster in the new season of True Detective is the Beau Idéal of relying on good bone structure and competent dermatology to see one through.

I am obviously ambivalent about the whole thing. I both want to she more “Frenchly” which is brilliant, BTW—and get a few things done. Thanks for writing.
